Below, find a series of videos that have been developed during 2012-2013 school year and identify the changing role of food service. The project set out to determine how to make changes within an existing food system; namely Food Service within a school district. Module 1 lays the foundation and describes the existing system. The additional video modules demonstrate different kinds of activities that can be done within a community to begin to make change.

Healthy Mayor’s Cookoff 2012 – Exposing the local community to school nutrition guidelines while engaging students and food service.
Energy Balls Recipe Test: As Food Service developed recipes to share with the community; Mt. Diablo High School students test them; then Food Service adds them to the cafeteria menu. Demonstration of full circle potential for change.
Weight of the Nation: Kaiser Permanente® funded the showing of the HBO documentary Weight of the Nation to the entire Mt. Diablo High School in Concord, CA in fall 2012. As part of the event, the entire student body was served brunch and lunch. The event is captured in video demonstrating the role food service plays in education to students.
